Gnome Surf Salty Tribe
X Sangha Yin Yoga
Saturday, March 14
11am - 12pm
Deep stretch & recovery. Yin Yoga boosts flexibility & joint health, essential for off-season surf conditioning.
Gnome Surf Salty Tribe will be joining Sangha New Bedford for this off season Tribe event. We are thrilled to gather at this beautiful studio in New Bedford, a space deeply rooted in the belief that community ("Sangha") is about connection, inclusion, and welcoming everyone exactly as they are.
What is Yin Yoga? Unlike more active styles of yoga, Yin is a slower, meditative practice where floor-based poses are held for longer periods (typically 3 to 5 minutes). This approach targets the deep connective tissues, fascia, ligaments, and joints, rather than just the muscles. For surfers, this is the perfect counterbalance to the dynamic, muscular "yang" energy of riding waves. It helps release tension in the hips, shoulders, and lower back, improving mobility and preventing injury so you stay ready for the water.
Your Teacher Kim Silvia-Pare will be guiding us through this restorative session, helping us slow down and reconnect with our bodies during the off-season.
